Good news for technology start-ups and entrepreneurs, Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) recently introduced its incubator program aimed at stimulating the development of new companies in the field of technology. In its report, the National announced that the new program is designed to assist and provide these new companies in business basics, marketing, networking activities, accounting and financial management including presentation skills. It will also give these businesses access to higher educational resources, in-depth training and investments.
This technology free zone was modeled on those located in other major economic hubs such as Singapore and Shanghai. The free zone technology park is the first of its kind and will help the Emirate position itself as the leading center for technology in the Middle East. The new program is part of the Dubai Silicon Oasis hi-tech ecosystem initiative aimed at developing new opportunities in the field of technology.
A “push” on the technology sector.
The Technology Incubator program is in-line with the Dubai Silicon Oasis push on developing its six technology sectors that includes semiconductors, mobile applications, data centers and internet companies with major businesses, and universities and governments in the Mid-east region.
“The new Dubai Silicon Oasis remains committed to shaping an integrated hi-tech eco-system that will form the primary nucleus of a tech-savvy community. We are confident that our efforts will bring rewards in the form of economic and social progress not only in the UAE but for the entire Arab region,” according to Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Vice Chairman & CEO of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority.
“Through the Technology Incubator, Dubai Silicon Oasis will create a suitable environment to encourage innovation and provide favorable opportunities for both entrepreneurs and owners of start-up technology projects,” he added.
